Colours L-R: Mellow Yellow: Harvest Moon; Cyber Green (back); Galactic Blue (front - this is the Mesh file); Tornado Red; Reflex Silver.

Oddly, Purplepaws seems to have made the recolours as clones rather than actual recolours. This may be simply an error: they were made pretty early on after all. Anyway, the Galactic Blue colour is the original mesh and I remade the other colours into proper recolours. This has two effects: 1. it tidies up the catalogue for these cars since you only get one version in the catalogue itself with the other colours available as regular recolours and 2. it reduces the filesizes of the recolours quite a bit. These files have not been compressed so might end up an even smaller size if you compress them. I have used the original names of the colours in the filenames - by which I mean, the colour names as designed by Volkswagen themselves as detailed in the picture caption. That's the first rar file below.

I also, for fun and because they are SO easy to do here, made some more recolours (if you would like them). These are also original colours (for the most part) from VW except for the purple and hot pink. I made those because who doesn't want a purple or hot pink VW bug? That's the second rar file below.

So I was talking to Calibrat about this set of recolours for Parsim's Oxygen Kitchen - quite an old set now but nice. The set was originally up at asSIMilatedSims (I think that's correct) but the site is long gone.

The recolour set was missing some items plus, as can be seen in the picture below (bottom), the lights must have been made before ceilings were put into the game. I originally just did a couple of recolours for Calibrat but I've made a few extra adjustments to the set so have put them all up here so people can DL the small corrections and additions if they want to and, of course, to make the set available again for those who want it.

Changes and additions include:

New recolours of the slatey grey colours for the

dishwasher

island counter

counter with drawers

Moved the light down the wall a bit so it fits under the ceiling
Recategorised that hanging plant so it appears in Decorative>Plants instead of statues. This mesh is actually by Yggsdrasil but was included in the recolour set
Provided a dirty state for both counters and the cooker
Renamed the files because the originals were just things like 'counter' and 'dishwasher' - I added the prefix HS_ParsimOxygen_BlackRC_ to help with identification of the origin of the file. If you have the originals, you'll have to delete them
Upgraded some of the textures to DXT3 to improve the rendering
The original set is here though I have included the meshes in the rar file, including the Yggsdrasil mesh. The blind is by Sims Divine and the mesh is included too as well as the recolour for the set. The painting is just a recolour of the in-game Nature's Perfection picture (the four frame job)

This picture shows how the lights looked originally with the ceilings

Turns out, it was a GUID conflict (shows what I know).

So I fixed it - new GUIDs for that window and it seems to work. It also seems to me that someone else might have fixed that elsewhere - nice set and so on - but I've not seen them and I thought I'd upload anyway. If anyone continues to have problems, please let me know.

It's only the shorter 2-tile window that was the problem so I've only uploaded the two files for that (the straight shorter 2-tile window and its diagonal). If you want the rest, you'll have to go to MTS and get the other files from the original download thread. Just let my files overwrite the original files - I didn't change the name.

Vegan-kaktus over at MTS asked about Targas's Transparent Water Fix which had started crashing the game when you tried to select or load the large fish tank (Aquabox 60 gallon) that came with Apartment Life. The mod was made long before that EP appeared and I thought that the internal referencing was possibly not up-to-date but that turned out not to be the problem. In fact, logical when I actually looked at the file and found out that the mod is in reality a simple texture default replacement.

In fact, it was a very, very simple fix - at least as far as I can tell. The problem was that the texture format of the texture causing the issue was misidentified as a Raw24Bit rather than DXT3 so the game was misreading the texture. Literally, a one-click fix in SimPE (well, three if you count the commit and save).

However - caveat:

I was so taken aback by this - it would appear to be a simple mistake by Targas (one we've all made if you've fiddled with textures) - I couldn't quite believe this was correct. I meant to test the hell out of the file but, as usual, I got distracted by something else and it slipped out of sight (to the bottom of my 'Work in Progress' folder in fact). I thought I might have missed something obvious. Also, I can't quite believe the base game texture file which the Aquabox references isn't used elsewhere. It should have caused crashing long before AL if the format was wrong. I dunno.

Anyway, Vegan-kaktus contacted me again on tumblr and asked about progress so I have posted the file here with the caveat that if you do download it and try it, it might cause a crash down the line when the game calls the texture in some other context. If it does, PLEASE let me know either here or over at tumblr. This file is currently regarded as IN TESTING.
For anyone reading this who doesn’t know what the mod does, it defaults the water textures so that bath water appears as transparent. It was originally uploaded to MTS’s sister site Sexy Sims 2 - not sure why exactly, perhaps because with it you can see the little sims’ bodies in the bath. Personally, I like it and, if it proves to be a robust fix, I will be pleased with that. I have not changed the file name so if you already have the mod, you can just overwrite (though you might want to back up the original just in case). I also might try some further development of the file since it is somewhat large and contains the LIFOs as well as the main textures. but the brown recolour (at right), at least for me, either had an error or got corrupted. The windows were flashing pink indicating that the internal referencing was off (you could see the issue in SimPE's scenegraph - and here in the picture).
