I have been meaning to post this set for nearly 18 months since I made it but I stopped making stuff for TS2 and didn't finish it. Well, now I have so here is the set. It includes the two walls I put in for the contest (above) plus three more pairs (patterned wall with toning plaster). They are all taken from patterns offered by John Lewis. For those of you who don't know, this is a large British retailer that specialises in homewares and is thought to be good quality and tasteful without being over posh. I like the shop anyway.

The patterns can be found under wallpapers and cost $8, while the plasters can be found under paint and cost $7. They are Cow Parsley, Pomegranate (the one used in the contest), Pom Pom Pink and Harlequin. The textures are taken from the John Lewis site though all of them are rather older now.

As is usual with walls I make for TS2, the top of the wall and fittings (crown) are made to work with the ceilings in game and therefore will have a blank strip at the top of the texture. You can see this if you play with ceilings turned off or if the ceiling is not visible.

The prompt was "warm and cozy" and having fiddled around a lot with various graphic bits and pieces I decided on entering the gold full panel and half panel wall as seen in the picture (swatch for the contest at the bottom). But the set was popular with the people I showed it to when it was in progress and so I decided to make a full set using the shaker panelling as the base.

There are now six base colours: black; green; blue; red; cream and gold. For each colour there is a full panelled wall, a half panelled wall (both of these are found in Panels in game) and a full wallpapered wall using the same crown and skirting (found in Wallpaper). All cost $8 per panel.

As is usual with my walls, they are designed to work with the ceilings in game so the crown will appear to be a little large at the top if viewed from above or without a ceiling showing.
The walls are based on the tile pattern in the first instance - I downloaded the original graphic file but fiddled with the image quite a bit. Then I did an inset painted pattern as the top half. As on other occasions, I created more walls than I was allowed to enter for the contest because I like to fiddle about and try things out. I include those here. The first two were entered into the contest and are called: Full (i.e. the full tiled wall) and Turquoise; the other two are labelled Beach Shells and Turtles. They can be found in Tiling and cost $8. This is the full swatch:

This is my entry for SimPearls' Wallpaper Makes the Room for April 2021. The theme was Damask and for the contest I made two walls - the base Mozart Silver Damask* wallpaper and a nice pale pink plaster wall to go with it (the actual pink is rather paler than it seems in the main picture because the lighting I used brings it out).

But the set itself consists of 8 walls because I played around with the textures till I got the ones I wanted. Some of the other combinations are also pleasing but you can only enter two into the contest. There are two versions of the damask wall: one plain, one with a dado rail; there are two of the pink plaster as well - one with a dado rail the other plain; there are two grey plaster walls in the same format because I originally thought about being achingly tasteful and grey-on-grey is so refined (as you may know, that does not usually appeal to me) and finally there are two walls with a mix of the paper and the pink plaster with a dado rail separating the areas of the wall covering.

*the name comes from the site I downloaded the image

When I did my research for this (aka looking at pictures on Google), I found a lot of achingly tasteful designs in severely bleached out colours and lots of gray (GRAY! In a BABY's room!). The modern advice seems to be to create a calming room for a baby. But with all the leached out colours and dead grays, I felt many modern little darlings must be badly sensory-deprived. You know: numb rather than calm, even if they have burgeoning highly-refined tastes.

So, as I don't want to underburden our little sim children and I absolutely have no taste, I made these instead. Not sure they quite come under the area of modern either.
I only made the yellow walls for the contest but I also include an alternative in green because that was what I was going to do first - then I changed my mind. There's also a cream carpet in the rar file - based on one of the EAxis carpets though I've forgotten which one. I was going for a modern (natch) calm atmosphere but with something a child might actually want to look at. Besides, those watercolour stars are lovely.
The brief was to create two walls to a theme of a country kitchen. I'm never sure when people talk about decorating styles whether I miss something about that. For this I just thought about my grandmother's home when I was a child - miles out in the country. It was always colder there than it was at home in the city and everything was a bit worn but also clean and bright (because the air was considerably cleaner). I came across a picture with these lovely pastel painted planks which, I thought, got across the idea of that pretty well.
I made two walls for the contest but there's also an extra wall in the rar file with just the planks going floor to ceiling which could be used as an outside wall. The interior walls, as is usual with walls I make, are designed to work with the ceilings in the game - so the crown board sits under the ceiling.

Here are two sets of exterior walls which I made a while back for a lot build I'm still working on called Lansbury House. The sets are designed to work together on the same build though, of course, you don't have to use them this way. Both sets are based on EAxis original textures.
The first set is based on a Life Stories wall called Vertic-all Siding in Winter White (lower floor in picture), while the second is based on the (I think) Base Game Scallop Wall Shingles also in White (upper floor).

The sets are quite simple really because what I wanted was a sense of a wooden frame for the build (as can be seen in the picture). I made for each version of the walls a wall with quoins (that is reinforcing for the corner of a building) - these match vertically as well as the walls matching horizontally so that you can make it look like the reinforcing quoin goes up the full height of the wall on a house. And then I also made a crown for the very top of a house wall. The wall variants are: base wall with crown; double-sided quoin (for fitting in one-space gaps); double-sided quoin with crown; left quoin; left quoin with crown; right quoin and right quoin with crown. That is seven variants for each wall. I have included with the Verticall set the original EAxis file because not everyone will have the Life Stories stuff. So there are eight files in that set (delete the base wall if you have the LS files). The Scallop Wall Shingles has seven files - all the variants - but I haven't included the original file because, as it's Base Game, everyone should have it anyway.

Eh well, when I signed up for this I told Shastakiss I'd been having a pretty troubling time recently what with the pandemic and everything so I wanted to sign up for the event because I wanted to cheer myself up with something creative and also get back in touch with the sims community because I've been away a while - things have been difficult at work too and I'm working at home atm (I hate it). Of course, Shasta was kind and took the pressure off and I was set - or so I thought. My prompt was Spring Forward, Fall Back and being a sim gardener (how many of us are there?), I was thinking about flowers and seasons and stuff. BUT THEN I actually got the virus. Not a pleasant experience I can tell you - I'M FINE and getting better, so please don't worry on my behalf. Anyway, I lost two weeks and got behind with work stuff and everything else and, well, I didn't have enough time for seasonal flowers. So I fell back on my good old reliable standby - making some walls - which I've done a lot, all things considered. I love messing around with colours and patterns and that cheered me up no end and I enjoyed doing something a little creative. I can whip walls up pretty quickly these days so I was able to get something done for my deadline and here they are. Hurrah!

 max_SpringCrocusWallpapers.rar (Size: 557.55 KB / Downloads: 892)

For Spring Forward, I made 10 walls based on a crocus pattern I came across while thinking about flowers originally.

 CrocusBlue1.jpg (Size: 228.23 KB / Downloads: 6122)
I decided to make the crocus pattern into a silhouette, added a crown and skirting board (from my, ahem, collection) and then also added a wainscot. There's an underlying textured colour layer and there are five colours: pink, green, blue, yellow and purple. There are two versions of each wall, one with the texture over the full wall with crown and skirting and one with the wainscot added. I picked the colours from pictures of lovely spring flowers I'd looked at when I did my research for the project. I didn't realise till I did that just how vibrant spring flowers are. I was originally thinking these would be lovely pastels but the colours are stronger and more cheerful than that.

For Fall Back, I made 10 more walls but this time based on a silhouette pattern of autumn leaves (sorry, being English I'll call it autumn not fall).

 AutumnLeavesGreen1.jpg (Size: 208.59 KB / Downloads: 6182)
Again five walls with a crown and skirting and five more with an added wainscot. I found a picture of a really nice oak wainscot and have used that to construct the skirting board and crown. I'm quite pleased with that - I really wanted a lovely oak wooden frame for the autumn leaves texture and colours. The mood here is more dramatic and the colours are rich, taken from pictures of autumn coloured leaves: green, gold, brown, red and blue (I know blue is not a leaf colour even in autumn but I wanted to round the palette out).

The walls are found in wallpaper and cost $7. Like all my walls, the crown is placed on the wall so as to fit under the ceiling when viewed with ceilings and walls up. Swatches:

I created these chalet walls for use with my Goldenrosen Landhaus which I built for the Wanderlust competition at MTS. They were designed to evoke the sense of being in an Alpen lodge - warm golden brown tones and natural wood surfaces. I also used in the build some older lodge walls of mine. If you downloaded the Goldenrosen Landhaus and its CC bundle, you will get these walls in that set of packages but I thought I would also upload the walls here as a free-standing set.
Included are:
Chalet walls and floors - there are two wooden interior chalet walls made using a texture from High Resolution Textures. and a lovely wooden chalet floor with a texture from The Foundary, found in Wooden Floors and costing $7. WARNING - this is a high resolution file and the file size is large.
There are three lodge walls - a wide-logged one called Log Cabin Siding and two narrower-logged walls called Clapboard Siding, one horizontally laid, the other vertical. These textures were made by me (quite a long time ago now too). These are in Siding and cost $8.
There is a simple brown recolour of the in-game Goth Aged Wood floor (see comparison picture) which was used for the ceilings. This is also in wooden floors and costs $8 (that was a mistake - it should be $6).
There are two rars here - one contains all the walls and floors EXCEPT the Chalet Wooden Floor - this was separated out because it's a huge file size because I didn't shrink the high resolution texture (it looks great). I might remake that, as a matter of fact, reducing the resolution.

Retro Wallpapers - Let's Recreate the 1950s

These were originally posted at MTS.

However, they have been updated. These wallpapers were originally made before I was completely in the habit of making interior walls fit to ceilings and so the original textures went to the top of the wall. The textures on these new versions of the files have been adjusted so that the crown of the paper sits at the point on the texture to make it appear correctly when viewed with the ceilings visible. Otherwise, there is a gap at the top of the paper. If you already have the files and have used them, you should be able to simply replace the files in your Downloads folder. I inserted new textures into the original files rather than make new wallpaper files (the textures have been compressed). This means the internal references should be the same and, if you have used the files already, the new versions should simply replace the ones you've already decorated with. However, I am not entirely sure this will work, so if you have any problems, please let me know. I haven't made new pictures BTW - the pictures here are the originals but the crown you can see on the swatch has been moved down (and in some cases, the pattern adjusted slightly) so all the crown is now seen below the ceiling.

Grammapat did a WCIF a while back asking about CC to make a pink bathroom 1950s style and I went mad and made a whole set of tiles for kitchens and bathrooms. But something about the websites I was looking at for ideas got to me and I went even madder still. As I travelled across the internet looking for inspiration, found some lovely textures that I thought would work nicely as retro style wallpapers with a modern take.

As with the tiles, the selection is (loosely) based around a colour set based on classic 50s design: pink, turquoise, lemon, chartreuse and candy apple red. There are 4 pink walls, 5 turquoise walls, 3 lemon (yellow) walls, 5 chartreuse walls and 2 candy apple red wallpapers plus a cream wallpaper which I just liked and thought had a retro vibe. A set of 20 wallpapers in all then – all have the same kickboard and crown.

I also made some carpets based on an interesting spotted texture I found. Again there are five colours, pink, turquoise, lemon, chartreuse and candy apple red, to go with the walls.

The walls are all classed in the wallpaper section and cost $7. The floors are in the carpets section and also cost $7. See swatches for names should you want to delete any. The names are derived from the sources for the textures.
